Sam is buried in the Dale Cemetery in Wiggins, Mississippi. His family included his wife, Malicia, and children: Elie, Richard, Enoch, Alford, Sam Jr., James and Terry. One of the things to note is that William III sold Sam while in slavery to a family by the last name of Nicholson. Once slavery ended, Sam kept the surname Nicholson rather than revert to Ramsay. This means that the Ramsey tree includes the black Nicholsons as well. Sam and some of his family members are also buried in the Dale Cemetery.
